Norway introduces a large-scale package of sanctions against Russia

The Norwegian government has joined the sanctions imposed against the Russian Federation by the countries of the European Union.

Sanctions from Norway will affect the financial, energy, transport, technology and defense sectors of the Russian economy, according to the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In addition, Norwegian sanctions will affect hundreds of Russians and Russian organizations. The restrictions are in line with European sanctions imposed through March 9, except for sanctions against Russia Today and Sputnik.

Norwegian Foreign Minister Anniken Huitfeld said that this package of sanctions is the most ambitious that Norway has ever introduced.
