Novinsky’s terminals and shipyards were seized

The court seized the property of the sanctioned oligarch Vadym Novinskyi. In particular, we are talking about shipbuilding plants and a terminal in Ochakiv, which were part of the Smart Holding group, where Novinsky was a beneficiary until the beginning of 2023.

The Shevchenkiv District Court in Kyiv seized 40 businesses of pro-russian businessman Vadym Novinsky. The total amount of confiscated property is more than 3.5 billion hryvnias, “NykVesty” reports.

Among the arrested enterprises are the terminal in Ochakiv worth UAH 100 million and the logistics enterprises of the holding in Mykolaiv, including Park Naval and Naval Logistics. Law enforcement officers also confiscated the property of the Black Sea Shipbuilding Plant, which ceased operations in 2021.

It will be recalled that the Kherson Shipbuilding Plant also belonged to the Smart Holding group through a subsidiary structure. At the beginning of the year, the website of Smart Holding (SH) reported that Novinsky allegedly does not own the company, and SH’s assets were transferred to a trust in Cyprus.

Now the SBU has already established that Novinskyi tried to re-register his own industrial facilities to persons under his control in order to avoid sanctions from the National Security Council. In January of this year, the oligarch himself removed the authority of the beneficiary of Smart Holding, handing over his fortune to the trust.

It should be noted that the shipbuilding and logistics enterprises of the holding, located in the south of Ukraine, suffered significant destruction. And this is despite Novinsky’s close “friendship” with the terrorist country. Yes, the russians do not spare the enterprises owned by their henchmen; the property of the Smart Holding group regularly comes under “fraternal” rocket attacks. The terminal in Ochakiv and the Kherson shipyard suffered the most from russian attacks. At the beginning of January, in just one day, snipers fired at the shipbuilding plant in Kherson 73 times. Rocket attacks on these objects continue to this day.
