Ports of Great Odesa receive more and more grain wagons
“Ukrzaliznytsia” noted that the rate of daily unloading of wagons with grain in the ports of Great Odesa is increasing.
The total rate of grain transfer through the western border crossings is currently 272.4 wagons per day, said Valery Tkachev, deputy director of the commercial work department of Ukrzaliznytsia JSC, Rail.insider reports.
“Gradually, the flow of wagons with grain cargoes is being reoriented from the western borders to the direction of the seaports of Great Odesa,” Valeryi Tkachev commented.
During the week, the indicator of daily unloading of wagons with grain in the ports of Great Odesa fluctuates in the range of 660–950 wagons per day. The average daily unloading rate is currently 905 units. Over the last week, the indicator increased by 46 wagons.
There is also an increase in the number of wagons with grain moving in the direction of the ports of Greater Odessa — from 5,619 to 5,746 wagons. At the same time, the queue of wagons with grain in the direction of the port of Izmail was reduced by 112 units.
The average daily rate of unloading of wagons with grain in the port of Izmail is currently 51 wagons. In the last week, the indicator decreased by 11 units.
The increase in unloading in the ports is primarily hindered by constant air alarms (the staff of the port operators are forced to stay in bomb shelters).
“There are still difficulties in bringing cargo to the ports of Great Odesa and removing empty wagons due to infrastructure restrictions (limited capacity of the Podilsk-Rozdilna-Odesa-Zastava section) and a general increase in cargo flow in the direction of the ports of Great Odesa (agricultural cargo and MMC cargo and others are moving at the same time) . Currently, the removal of empty wagons from the Odesa junction is being intensified,” said the representative of Ukrzaliznytsia.
