Ports on the Danube set a record for cargo turnover

In 2023, cargo turnover through the Danube ports became a record – more than 29 million tons.

The main results of the work on the development of the ports of the Danube cluster was dwelt upon by the head of SE “Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority” Yurii Lytvyn.

According to him, in the conditions of the unstable security situation in the Black Sea, the Danube ports remained one of the most reliable export routes.

“That is why a large part of the effort was directed at optimizing the operation of these ports. In 2023, we managed to achieve record results – thanks to our activities, more than 29 million tons of cargo passed through the Danube ports in a year. This is an increase of almost 6 times compared to the pre-war period,” said the head of USPA.

Also, the number of ship arrivals doubled – 13,045 units compared to 8,944 in 2022.

• technical support for pilots and updating of ship traffic monitoring systems;

• repair of highways and railway tracks;

• international cooperation within the framework of RDNA 3;

• development of the Ukrainian maritime corridor, expansion of the range of cargo handled in ports.
