Prices for Ukrainian wheat are expected to rise in seaports

Україна скоротила експорт агропродукції на 9 млн тонн

Analysts predict an increase in prices for Ukrainian wheat in the seaports of Odesa region.

“According to expectations, wheat prices may rise during December and January, the SRT market in Odesa will rise by $3-5 per ton within the next week,” the press service of the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Council reported.

Currently, wheat trade in the Danube ports has practically stopped. Odesa region ports trade at conventional prices of $145-148 per ton of fodder wheat and over $170 for food.

The All-Ukrainian Agrarian Council noted that shipments of wheat from Ukraine for export are gaining momentum. As of December 4, the volume of wheat exports amounted to 100,000 tons out of the 1.2 million tons contracted for this month.

It is forecast that Ukraine will reach an export level of 1.3 to 1.5 million tons in December and January thanks to the efficient operation of sea ports and significant demand for wheat on the world market.

“If the work of deep-sea ports will continue to be stable, then large stocks of wheat in Ukraine will not be formed for the next season,” the analysts emphasized.
