Russia is probably creating information conditions for potential provocations in the Baltic Sea to discredit Ukraine and its support by the West, ISW believes.
This is how the Institute for the Study of War explains Russia’s recent statements in its report about Ukraine’s alleged plans to blow up a ship in the Baltic Sea.
Analysts note that Moscow may be creating information conditions for possible attacks under a foreign flag in the Baltic Sea and against Russian opposition politicians in order to discredit Ukraine.
As a reminder, Russia recently announced Ukraine’s alleged plans to blow up a foreign ship. Russian intelligence claims that the blowup was planned so that NATO would close Russia’s access to the Baltic Sea.
