Russian ship transported about 4 thousand tons of steel from Crimea to Syria

A sanctioned vessel under the Russian flag, which was loaded with hot-rolled steel in the occupied Crimea, is heading to the port of Tartus (Syria).

This was reported by Kateryna Yaresko, a journalist for the SeaKrime project of the Peacemaker Center.

From April 10 to 17, about 4,000 tons of hot-rolled steel were loaded onto the Kapitan Yakovlev (IMO:9077575) vessel in occupied Sevastopol.

“After that, Kapitan Yakovlev entered the anchorage of the Kavkaz port and is heading to Tartus. In March, a similar voyage was made by Viktor Zabelin (IMO:9210256), which exported hot-rolled steel weighing over 8 thousand tons. Traffic between the occupied Crimea and Syria is developing,” Kateryna Yaresko noted.

The Defense Intelligence Ministry of Defense War&Sanctions portal notes that the vessel is systematically involved in schemes to steal Ukrainian grain from the TOT of Ukraine, in particular from the temporarily occupied port of Berdyansk in the Zaporizhia region.
