SBU detained a woman who was planning a terrorist attack near the port of Odesa

The security service detained a Russian military intelligence agent in Odesa who was planning a terrorist attack on port infrastructure.
The attacker burned down Ukrzaliznytsia energy facilities and prepared caches with firearms and components for explosives, the SBU said.
At the end of 2024, a 32-year-old Odessa woman was recruited by a regular employee of the Russian special operations forces. On his instructions, the traitor set fire to a relay cabinet of a signal installation and a transformer substation on a local railway line.
Then the agent received a new task – to equip a cache with components for an improvised explosive device (IED) near the port.
In Odessa, she tried to plant components for an IED in a previously prepared cache near the port infrastructure. At this stage, SBU counterintelligence officers detained the agent “red-handed” and seized part of the explosive device from her.
During the searches, a mobile phone with evidence of communication with the Russian game was seized from the detainee. Currently, SBU investigators have informed her of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law).
Issues are also being resolved regarding the additional qualification of the perpetrator’s actions under Part 2 of Article 113 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (sabotage committed under martial law).
The woman is in custody, she faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
Earlier, USM reported that the SBU detained an FSB agent in Odesa who was spying on the ships of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
