Concession

In early May, the Ukrainian publication “Telegraf” published two articles on the same day criticizing the terminal concession project in the port of Chornomorsk. Loud statements about the “dismissal of port workers” and “backroom discussions” attracted the attention of other media outlets of a similar nature: the “Fakty”, “Gordon”, UNIAN.
Whether the author of both articles was driven by ordinary ignorance or a more cynical motivation — we do not know. However, we want to explain in an accessible way why such concession statements are fake and manipulated. USM analyzed the manipulative takes from both articles — with the help of Andriy Sokolov, the director of Ukrainian Shipping Magazine.

The Transport Forum, which took place in Odesa, discussed concession projects, digitalization and restoration of Ukraine’s port infrastructure.

Currently, the concession of terminals in the port of Chornomorsk is in the final stage of preparation.

The concessionaire of the Kherson Port stated that it has been insisting on the creation of a working group for 2.5 years.

The Ministry of Development and the EBRD discussed the implementation of the concession project in the port of Chornomorsk at a conference in Warsaw.

Representatives of the Ministry of Development took part in the Investment Conference on the implementation of the concession project in the port of Chornomorsk, which took place on April 24 in Warsaw.

Preparations for the concession competition are currently underway.

The conference will be held to familiarize potential investors with the concession project.

During the working meeting, preparations for the concession competition for the first and container terminals of the port of Chornomorsk were discussed.

The Ministry of Development of Ukraine, in cooperation with the IFC and the EBRD, is preparing two concession projects in the port of Chornomorsk.
