The arrested ore of the russian oligarch Usmanov will be sold at auction
The National Agency for Identification, Search and Management of Assets Obtained from Corruption and Other Crimes (ARMA) is preparing for sale the seized iron ore of a russian oligarch.
ARMA employees conducted an inspection and are preparing for sale the seized iron ore located in the “Pivdennyi” port, the press service of the agency reported.
In particular, ARMA experts inspected the iron ore briquettes produced by the Lebedyn Mining and Processing Plant owned by russian oligarch Alisher Usmanov. Before the arrest, the property was delivered to the port using the “transit” customs regime for the accumulation of the ship’s consignment, for further transportation to China.
The agency’s specialists also inspected the iron ore coils produced by Mykhailivskyi Mining and Refining Plant, which were also placed in the customs control zone of SE “IZM MTP” for sale. Based on the collected materials, it was established that the property arrived at the terminal of “TIS-COAL” LLC by rail for transshipment to sea transport under the contract with the company “Metalloinvest Trading AG”. The sea terminal of “TIS-COAL” LLC is located in the “Pivdenny” seaport, at the “Vizyrka” control point, and part of the iron ore coils is in the responsible storage of the “IZM MTP” SE.
The assets are stored in various warehouses and sites and are currently customs-cleared.
Based on the results of the property survey, ARMA collected the necessary information that will be used in the assessment of the assets. Now the agency is taking measures to transfer the specified property for sale to the trading platform determined in the competitive selection procedure.
It will be recalled that in February, 166,000 tons of iron ore with an estimated value of ₴1.8 billion, previously seized in several seaports of Ukraine, передали were handed over to ARMA.
According to the investigation, during 2021-2022, a non-resident legal entity registered in an EU country, together with Russian companies affiliated with the Russian oligarch Usmanov, declared the transfer of iron ore for a total amount of more than ₴ through the territory of Ukraine to Asian countries in the customs regime “transit” 1.3 billion
In order to evade the payment of taxes and other mandatory payments, which are paid during the import of goods to the territory of Ukraine, the company’s officials used the mechanism of the so-called “interrupted transit”.
In fact, they did not aim to export ore outside of Ukraine. In fact, the company’s officials shipped goods to business entities – residents of Ukraine, without paying customs fees. Thus, more than UAH 118 million in damages were caused to the state.
