The Commander of the Armed Forces Navy met with the leader of the Crimean Tatars Dzhemilev


The Commander of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine met with the Hero of Ukraine Mustafa Dzhemilev.

Vice-Admiral Oleksiy Neizhpapa met with one of the leaders of the Crimean Tatar national movement, the first chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, People’s Deputy of Ukraine and Hero of Ukraine Mustafa Dzhemilyov, the Navy said.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the historical parallels between the deportation of the Crimean Tatar people in 1944, the victims of which are traditionally commemorated in Ukraine on May 18, and the oppression suffered by representatives of this people from the modern occupiers of Crimea – the Russian Federation.

Vice Admiral Oleksiy Neizhpapa thanked the entire Crimean Tatar people for their contribution to the defense of Ukraine and assistance to the Armed Forces, in particular – the national fleet, and especially – for those of their sons and daughters who are serving in the ranks of the Defense Forces today, and for those who gave their lives in fight against the Russian invaders.

At the end of the meeting, the participants shared their personal opinions regarding further cooperation in the near future and after the de-occupation of Ukrainian Crimea.
