The court seized 80 million worth of grain at the terminal in the port of Odesa

The court seized more than 33,000 tons of corn, 11,000 tons of wheat and other grain stored at the Olympex terminal in the port of Odesa.

The decision was made by the court within the framework of criminal proceedings on the fact of tax evasion in the amount of almost UAH 81 million, according to the court decision.

The grain was seized at the terminal at the beginning of June this year.

The investigating judge seized 18 sheets of consignment notes of the exporter “Aftorx” and the customer “Triple Trading”. In particular, 29 sea containers with wheat, more than 33 thousand tons of corn and more than 11 thousand tons of wheat were seized.

The judge added that he will take into account the fact that the criminal proceedings are not limited to the events of 2021-2023. According to him, this year the details of “risky” business entities were used, and false information about the grain producer and/or supplier was entered into official documents in order to avoid paying particularly large amounts of taxes.

It should be noted that these actions led to tax evasion in the amount of more than UAH 80 million 921 thousand.

We will remind, “Olympex Coupe International” was built in Odesa port back in 2000. In May, the Bureau of Economic Security (BEB) published new facts confirming the export of grain from the Olympex terminal without paying taxes.
