The duty on the import of Ukrainian steel may be canceled in the USA
Economy Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko considers it possible to exempt steel produced in Ukraine from 25% of US import duties.
This became known from the message of Yuliia Svyrydenko on her Facebook page. Commenting on the results of the 10th meeting of the Ukrainian-American Trade and Investment Council, the Minister noted that one can hope for the abolition of duties based on the agreements between the United States and the European Union.
“The recent agreement between the US and the EU gives us a chance to also exempt Ukrainian steel from duties. Moreover, it is completely smelted in Ukraine (as required by the United States). This discussion is complex amid the global problem of steel overproduction. But we have very similar views on this problem with the United States,” wrote Yuliia Svyrydenko.
It is noted that the meeting also discussed issues of intellectual property, digital trade with the United States and updating the agreement on trade and investment cooperation between states.
