The EU will allocate 2.5 billion euros for the modernization of transport infrastructure
2.5 billion euros are planned to be allocated to the construction and modernization of transport infrastructure in EU countries and Ukraine and Moldova.
A new stage of submitting applications for financing projects within the European Union’s Connecting Europe Facilities (CEF) program for transport has started, writes Rail.insider.
It is assumed that the projects will contribute to the expansion and modernization of the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T).
Future projects may relate to the following industries:
• railway;
• internal waterways;
• sea and river ports;
• road safety;
• multimodal cargo terminals;
• multimodal passenger centers;
• smart and compatible programs for transport;
• security and safe mobility;
• infrastructural stability.
It should be noted that applications can be submitted by: one or more member states; international organizations or public bodies or private organizations established in an EU member state or countries associated with the CEF (Ukraine and Moldova).
Proposals are accepted electronically until January 21, 2025.
We will remind you that in August of this year, the National Transport Model of Ukraine was updated. After the project was updated, the Trans-European Transport Networks (TEN-T) and the networks of inland waterways of Ukraine were included.
