The media: the USA believes that the UN Secretary General is too “compliant” with russian federation regarding the “Grain Agreement”
The United States believes that UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres is too eager to meet russian interests when revising the Black Sea Grain Agreement.
Washington is closely monitoring Antonio Guterres, the BBC and The Guardian report with reference to “leaked” Pentagon documents.
The media say that several files describe private communications involving Guterres and his deputy. The documents also contain frank observations of Guterres about the war in Ukraine and some African leaders.
One of the merged documents concerns the Black Sea Grain Agreement. It follows that Guterres was so interested in preserving the agreement that he was ready to go to the interests of Russia.
“Guterres emphasized his efforts to improve russia’s export capabilities, even if it concerns russian entities or individuals subject to sanctions,” the document said.
The UN Secretary General’s actions in February, according to the US assessment, “undermine broader efforts to hold moscow accountable for its actions in Ukraine.” In turn, UN representatives were outraged by the assumption that the world’s leading diplomat was “soft on russian federation.”
