The Navy spoke about rebuilding the Ukrainian fleet

Ukraine’s partners help not only by handing over ships, but also by training personnel.

Dmytro Pletenchuk, the spokesman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said this in an interview with Suspilne.

According to him, permanent partner Britain, as well as the USA, the Netherlands, and Norway are helping to rebuild the Ukrainian fleet. In particular, the members of the shipping coalition, many European countries, which the Navy does not even advertise, because they are currently not only preparing ships for handover, are helping.

“The Netherlands, for example, is preparing personnel. And not only ships, because the Navy is not only ships. So are marines and drone operators, operators of various air defense systems. All these personnel undergo training, and quite often this training takes place abroad, precisely thanks to the support of our foreign partners,” said Dmytro Pletenchuk.

Also helping is Turkey, which this year is completing the first “Ivan Mazepa” corvette, which should enter service already this year. The corvette can perform a variety of tasks — protection of the water area, coastal waters, combating surface ships, reconnaissance, anti-aircraft cover.

“It was somewhat modernized during construction, taking into account the realities of today and the combat experience we already have. Therefore, some structural changes were made to this corvette. The crew is currently undergoing training, this process is very long,” shared the spokesman of the Armed Forces Navy.

We will remind you that the corvette “Hetman Ivan Mazepa” recently underwent sea trials.
