The Russians attacked one of the largest Kernel factories: the facility stopped working

The Russians attacked one of the largest oilseed processing plants, Kernel, using a drone.

Kernel’s Starokostyantyn plant in western Ukraine was damaged as a result of a drone attack. This was reported by  “Interfax-Ukraine” with reference to the company’s announcement on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.

According to Kernel’s statement, the plant has been shut down. The fire caused by the attack was extinguished. There are no casualties. Agroholding is currently assessing the damage.

The company specified that the Starokostyantyniv plant is the largest Kernel plant in western Ukraine.

The Starokostiantyn Oil Extraction Plant (OEP) in Khmelnytskyi Oblast began operations in mid-April 2024. At the plant, in addition to sunflower, they planned to try the processing of soybeans and rapeseed. Thanks to the launch of the Starokostyantyniv factory, the agricultural holding increased sunflower processing by 10% in the third quarter of the 2024 fiscal year, compared to the same figure last year. The maximum capacity of the plant is to process 1 million tons of sunflower seeds every year.

Previously, USM reported that more than 800 employees of the Ukrainian agricultural holding Kernel are currently serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine
