The vessel, on which seafarers from Crimea were working, was not allowed into the port of Pivdenny


The border guards of the Odesa branch of the State Border Guard Service did not let 12 seafarers with Russian passports issued by the occupying authorities of the Crimean Peninsula.

According to the press service of the department, the matter concerns the crew of a vessel flying the flag of Liberia, which has entered the port of Pivdenny. The sailors were banned from entering Ukraine for three years.

The border guards recalled that, in accordance with Section 9 of the Law of Ukraine “On ensuring the rights and freedoms of citizens and the legal regime in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine”, any bodies, their officials and officials in the temporarily occupied territory and their activities are illegal if these bodies or persons are created, elected or appointed in accordance with the procedure not provided by law.

In general, since the beginning of the year, the coastguards of the Odesa detachment have refused to pass to almost 1,100 citizens, of which 1,075 are foreigners.
