The volume of railway transportation to Romania and Moldova decreased
In the first four months of 2024, Ukrzaliznytsia sent more than 1 million tons of cargo to Romania.
From January to April 2024, 1.165 million tons of cargo were sent to Romania by rail. This is almost 208 thousand tons less than in the same period last year, Rail.Insider writes.
The volume of grain transportation decreased the most — by 189.3 thousand tons. There was also a decrease in the transportation of oil products (by 106.2 thousand tons) and fertilizers (by 15.3 thousand tons). At the same time, the transportation of cement (by 75.4 thousand tons) and forest cargo (by 45.5 thousand tons) increased.
In addition, in connection with Moldova, 807 thousand tons of cargo were transported in four months. This indicator is 270.4 thousand tons less than in the corresponding period last year. The transfer of oil cargoes decreased by 188.7 thousand tons. The volume of transportation of grain cargoes (by 56.1 thousand tons) and mine construction materials (by 51.6 thousand tons) also decreased.
