There will be more international projects on the “Noosfera” icebreaker
New projects of international cooperation are expected at the station “Akademik Vernadskyi” and the research vessel “Noosfera”.
The projects were discussed during a meeting of the Board of Managers of the National Antarctic Programs, the National Science Center reported.
The Ukrainian delegation presented the plan of logistics operations of the 30th Ukrainian Antarctic Expedition for the summer season of 2024-2025 and invited other countries to cooperate on the basis of the station “Akademik Vernadskyi” and the ship “Noosfera”.
“Our proposals aroused considerable interest, and after the working group, what happened for the sake of which meetings are held offline – a series of bilateral negotiations with potential partners. Without their consent, we cannot provide details yet, but it seems that the number of international projects at “Vernadskyi” and “Noosfera” will significantly increase,” – shared the director of the National Center for Scientific Research, Evgeny Dykiy.
Note that the meeting was held in Buenos Aires (Argentina). The event was attended by 176 representatives from 33 national Antarctic programs, in particular, specialists from the National Institute of Natural Sciences from Ukraine.
As previously reported by USM, on May 8, the vessel “Noosfera” docked in the port of Cape Town (South Africa), completing the third Antarctic season.
