Turkey should guarantee Ukraine’s security from the Black Sea, says Polish Deputy Defense Minister

Poland has stated that Turkey’s main role should be to guarantee Ukraine’s security from the Black Sea.
This was stated by Poland’s Deputy Minister of Defense Pawel Zalewski, Gospodarka Morska reports.
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara on March 12. The head of the Polish government turned to President Erdogan with a proposal that his country take on “the greatest possible co-responsibility” for the peace process, as well as for guarantees of stability and security “in our entire region.”
On Thursday, March 13, Zalewski was asked on Radio Trójka whether the conversation between Tusk and Erdogan concerned the participation of the Turkish army in a possible peacekeeping mission in Ukraine. He replied that it was a comprehensive conversation. Zalewski also noted that Turkey is a key country in terms of the security of Ukraine, Europe and Poland.
According to the Deputy Minister of Defense, “Turkey’s main role in the mission should be to ensure security from the Black Sea by regulating the movement of warships.”
In his opinion, the supply of weapons to Ukraine is also an important issue. “The Turks have a lot to offer here,” he said.
Earlier, USM reported that the first YLCT tank landing ship was launched in Turkey.
