Two bulk carriers brought military cargo to the port of Mariupol

During October, it was possible to record how bulk carriers entered the temporarily occupied Mariupol port loaded.

Petro Andryushchenko, adviser to the mayor of Mariupol, told about this on the air of the telethon, UNIAN writes.

According to him, this year the Mariupol port was mostly idle, but in autumn, at the end of September and in October, activity of the invaders was observed. So, during October, at least two sea bulkers entered loaded.

“They came in with a cargo of dual purpose, at least, if not military. Unloading was very fast. It happened surreptitiously on those berths where it is very difficult to fix from the outside. And either directly citizens of the Russian Federation, who were brought from Novorossiysk by shift method, or traitors – Mariupol dockers, who passed a very tight check at the time, took part in the unloading and maintenance of these vessels,” said Petro Andryushchenko.

The adviser also explained that precisely because of the specified nuances, information about these “secret” cargoes is very limited. They were unloaded directly onto the railway, which was taken to the territory of the Ilyich combine, and then to Volnovakha, in the north of the Donetsk region.

In his opinion, the Russian invaders plan to turn the Mariupol port into their military logistics base.

“We assume that next year, from February or spring, when active navigation will begin, they will actively use the port as a military logistics base. But in fact, they have everything ready for this,” Andryushchenko added.

As previously reported by USM, in total, since the beginning of 2024, the Russian invaders have illegally transferred 230,000 tons of cargo to the port of Mariupol.
