Ukraine will receive $20 billion from the United States to finance the loan – Zelenskyy

President Zelenskyy announced the decision of the United States to provide $20 billion to finance a loan in the total amount of $50 billion that Ukraine will receive.

The President of Ukraine announced this in his traditional evening video address.

Zelensky clarified that these funds are secured by frozen Russian assets. He emphasized that part of this funding is part of a broader decision of the G7 countries to support the defense and stability of Ukraine. The President also emphasized the importance of implementing this decision by the end of this year.

Earlier, the European Council provided an explanation regarding the mechanism for Ukraine’s payment of a macro-financial loan of EUR 35 billion.

It will be recalled that the European Parliament approved a loan to Ukraine at the expense of the frozen assets of the Russian Federation on October 22.
