Ukrainian drones attacked 11 Russian ships in the Sea of Azov

On the night of July 14, Ukrainian drones targeted Russian tankers, dry cargo ships, and a tugboat in the Sea of Azov.

This was reported by the commander of the UAV Forces, Robert “Madyar” Browdi.

According to him, Ukrainian drones hit five tankers, five dry cargo ships, and one tugboat overnight.

Thus, in nine days, the UAV Forces “Birds” have already targeted 116 vessels in the Sea of Azov.

Browdi explained that the “paralysis” of the Russian Federation’s feeder fleet significantly complicates the work of the Russian “shadow fleet.” These are small and medium-sized flat-bottomed tankers with a deadweight of about 7 thousand tons, which are used as “courier” vessels to transport oil from Russian ports and oil depots through the Volga-Don Canal and the Sea of Azov. Due to the shallow water, large tankers cannot enter individual ports and oil terminals, so they are loaded in the Black Sea on the roadstead – by transshipment from several such small tankers.

The damage to these vessels, as well as tugboats trying to help damaged tankers, limits the Russian Federation’s ability to export oil through this logistical scheme. In addition, it complicates the supply of scarce gasoline to the occupied Crimea via the Sea of Azov. In this case, the Russians have to rely more on the delivery of fuel by road and rail tankers, which also remain vulnerable to Ukrainian strikes.

Earlier, USM reported that the SBU hit Russian boats, ferries and oil infrastructure in the port of Kavkaz.
