“Ukrzaliznytsia” will transport trucks on trains across the Ukrainian-Polish border
First, a video appeared online showing Ukrainian trucks loaded on trailer platforms moving along the railway. Now the UZ has explained that this is another way to deal with the blockade by Polish carriers.
Currently, Polish customs officials are already conducting an inspection of a test trailer train loaded with 23 Ukrainian trucks, said Valery Tkachov, deputy director of the commercial work department of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia”.
“Now we have a loaded train standing at the crossing with Hrubeshuv. We already have 23 loaded railcars with trucks,” said Tkachev.
According to his information, the Ukrainian and Polish sides are currently coordinating technical issues. The Polish customs has questions about the dimensions of the cargo, as well as about the presence of fuel in the trucks’ tanks.
“In the near future, we will try to resolve these issues so that he is allowed to pass. As soon as this test train passes and everything is fine, we will launch it en masse,” promised the UZ representative. According to him, the operator of such freight transportation by railway will be the Ukrainian State Center of Transport Service “Lisky”.
