UZ reduces the queue of grain wagons to ports

Ukrzaliznytsia is reducing the queue of grain wagons to ports despite the increased shelling of railway and port infrastructure after the Easter holidays.

This was announced on April 16 during an online meeting with agricultural market participants by Valeriy Tkachev, Deputy Director of the Department of Transportation Technology and Commercial Work of UZ.

According to him, the situation remains difficult, but controlled. For security reasons, both freight and passenger trains have to be temporarily stopped, which negatively affects the turnover of wagons.

Approximately 47–50 trains are sent to the ports every day. At the same time, the queue of grain wagons is gradually decreasing: as of April 16, it is 7,948 wagons, which is 217 wagons (3.3%) less than a week ago.

The average daily grain cargo load for the first 14 days of April is 81.2 thousand tons, which is 7.5 thousand tons (8.5%) less compared to March.

We will remind you that on the night of April 17, Russian troops carried out a massive attack with strike drones on the Odesa region, in particular on the infrastructure of the Danube ports.
