Zelenskyy called on Greece to protect the new “grain corridor” in the Black Sea
Ukraine has created an alternative corridor in the Black Sea for the export of agricultural products, but it needs increased protection, because Russia is not even nominally involved in this initiative.
The new corridor in the Black Sea for the export of grain needs strengthening of anti-aircraft defense, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said at a joint press conference with Prime Minister of Greece Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Ukrinform reports.
“Ukraine has created an alternative grain corridor in the Black Sea. He can work,” said Zelenskyy.
The President emphasized that the “air shield” needs to be strengthened for the stable operation of the corridor.
“This is important for the Black Sea region, in particular for our city of Odesa. And this can be a historic contribution of Greece to the overall European security, if you help us with the protection of the Black Sea water area in particular and with regard to air defense systems,” the President added.
Zelenskyi also noted that he has already offered Greece options on how this can be done.
In addition, the President said that Greek companies are ready to participate in the transportation of Ukrainian grain.
