Due to sanctions, Russia has already lost 15.9 billion euros
EU sanctions against the Russian Federation as a result of the Kremlin’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine dealt a significant blow to the economy of the aggressor country.
Sanctions against Russia, introduced by EU countries, led to a budget deficit of the aggressor country of 1.7 trillion rubles (15.9 billion euros) as of 2023. This was stated by European Commissioner for Justice Didier Reynders, Ukrinform reports.
“I want to assure you that the sanctions have a powerful impact on the Russian economy. Sanctions have reduced the revenue that Russia can use to finance the war. Thus, the budget indicators relating to Moscow’s oil and gas revenues have significantly decreased. At the same time, Russian military spending has increased significantly,” the European Commissioner emphasized.
USM recently wrote that the USA imposed sanctions against some companies and ships for violating the “price ceiling” for oil from the Russian Federation.
