A ship with Ukrainian grain has arrived in Nigeria
A ship with Ukrainian grain, which departed from the port of Samsun within the framework of the Grain from Ukraine program, arrived in Nigeria.
The dry cargo ship Fuat Sezgin arrived at the port of Harcourt on January 22 and has already started unloading, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Turkey Vasyl Bodnar told “Ukrinform”.
The ship left for Nigeria on December 30. Grain was stored in warehouses in Turkey within the framework of the UN World Food Program. It was sent to Africa under the Grain from Ukraine program from the Turkish port of Samsun.
“This program demonstrates how Ukraine, third countries and the UN can act together to prevent the manipulation and blackmail of food by the aggressor country and help those countries that need food support the most. The Alternative Sea Corridor is effective, the Grain from Ukraine program is working. Russia’s attempt at historical déjà vu, this time with scaling the Holodomor to the whole world, did not work,” the ambassador commented.
The diplomat noted that the best response to Russia’s attempts to counter the export of food from Ukraine is international solidarity and joint efforts of countries and international organizations to ensure the safety of shipping in the Black Sea.
