Ukrzaliznytsia paid more than UAH 1.25 billion in dividends, but this is only an advance

JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” paid part of the dividends for the previous year to the state budget.
UZ reported that Ukrzaliznytsia transferred UAH 1.259 billion in advance payments from dividends to the state budget.
This is the first advance payment, because the company is still finalizing the consolidated report, which will clearly define its profit based on the results of work in 2023.
Payments and their efficiency are crucial for financing the needs of the state, in particular, its defense capabilities.
According to operational data, Ukrzaliznytsia ended 2023 with a positive financial result. At the beginning of February 2024, the government determined the level of dividends that will be transferred to the budget by joint-stock companies with a state share.
According to the government decision, the standard of deductions for JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” is set at the level of 50%, on the condition that 30% of the company’s profit will be directed to the financing of capital investments approved in the consolidated financial plan for 2024, reconstruction of critical railway infrastructure and renewal of rolling stock.
