Iran, China and Russia will conduct joint exercises at sea
Naval exercises of the “totalitarian bloc” will take place in the Arabian Sea. The official aim of the exercises was to combat piracy.
Joint naval exercises of Iran, Russia and China will take place in the Arabian Sea. The exercises have been called “Maritime Security Belt-2024,” Reuters reports .
Representatives of the Navy of India, Pakistan, Oman, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and South Africa will also be observers at the exercises.
“The purpose of these exercises includes strengthening the security of international maritime trade, combating piracy and maritime terrorism, facilitating the exchange of information for maritime rescue operations, as well as the exchange of operational and tactical information,” writes Al Arabiya.
Iran announced that naval exercises in the Arabian Sea will begin on March 12.
The Russians sent a group of ships led by the cruiser “Varyag” for training. Russian aviation will also join them. China will send two warships with guided missiles and a support vessel.
USM recently wrote that India and the US have conducted large-scale coast guard exercises.
A little earlier, the NATO alliance conducted large-scale military exercises in the Baltic region, in particular, at sea.
