Ukrzaliznytsia can start transporting wagons by sea to other countries

JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” is currently negotiating with other states regarding the use of its wagons.

On July 4, at a meeting of agricultural market participants, the issue of using UZ wagons in Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan was discussed, Rail.insider reports.

After the start of the full-scale war, Ukrzaliznytsia stopped cooperation in the railway sector with the CIS countries. Therefore, now, in order to transfer UZ wagons to these countries, the company is working on concluding bilateral agreements separately with each railway administration.

The Department of Transportation Technology and Commercial Work of Ukrzaliznytsia has already sent letters regarding the use of Ukrainian wagons to Georgia, Kazakhstan, and Turkmenistan.

Earlier, USM reported that JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” plans to hand over two of its own ferries to the State Property Fund of Ukraine — a relevant government decision is currently awaited.

It will be recalled that in July the shipping company “Ukrferry” resumed voyages from the port of Chornomorsk to Batumi.
