Ukraine will play a decisive role in the Trans-Caspian route if it launches ferries to Georgia
After the restoration of the ferry connection with Georgia, Ukraine will play a decisive role in the development of the Trans-Caspian route.
This was stated by the Ambassador of Ukraine to Azerbaijan Yuriy Gusev during the Black-Caspian Freight Forum 2024, Rail.insider reports.
According to him, the restoration of the ferry connection with Georgia will give Ukraine the opportunity to become a vital part of the global Middle Corridor and transit route.
The Middle Corridor (Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, TMTM) provides container rail freight transportation between China and the EU via Central Asia, the Caucasus, Turkey and Eastern Europe.
Earlier, USM reported that two Ukrzaliznytsia ferries will become the property of the State Property Fund.
