The farewell and burial of the Ukrainian hero will take place on September 24 in Odesa.

During the missile attack by the occupiers on the port infrastructure of Odesa, the commander of the maritime guard ship, captain of the third rank, Volodymyr Kovalchuk, died. This was reported in the press service of the Nerubai rural territorial community.

“The whole community is in mourning. We sincerely sympathize with the family of the deceased, sharing your pain and sorrow. With deep respect, we bow our heads to the bright memory of the Hero! It is impossible to quench the pain of irreparable loss. We are eternally indebted to the defenders who gave their lives for Ukraine, for its peaceful future!”, the post reads.

Farewell to the fallen soldier and burial will take place on September 24. Information about the place and time is not disclosed for security reasons.

As USM wrote the day before, in the afternoon of September 20, the Russians attacked port and civilian infrastructure, as well as a civilian ship, with missiles.
