The government created a working group to implement the Maritime Security Strategy of Ukraine
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine created an Interdepartmental Working Group on Coordination of the Implementation of the Maritime Security Strategy of Ukraine. The government also approved the regulations on the group and its personnel.
This was reported in the Navy of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The interdepartmental working group will work as a coordination center, uniting the efforts of various departments and experts.
The key directions of the group’s work will be:
• development of the procedure for monitoring the implementation of the Government’s Strategy and plans, as well as preparation of proposals for its improvement;
• analysis of problematic issues and development of solutions for their resolution;
• preparation of proposals for improving legislation in the field of maritime security;
The Ministry of Defense will coordinate the work of the group. Group meetings will be held at least quarterly.
The Ministry of Defense emphasized that the group will have the authority to organize expert discussions, involve specialists and analyze the implementation of the Strategy. Not only representatives of state bodies, but also local self-government representatives and independent experts can be involved in its work.
Special attention will be paid to international cooperation. The group will contribute to the study of the experience of the leading maritime states and the establishment of partnerships with international organizations.
We will remind you that in July 2024, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, approved a new Maritime Security Strategy of Ukraine.
