The agreement on subsoil may be signed in the near future, — Shmyhal

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal expressed hope that the agreement on subsoil between the governments of Ukraine and the United States will be signed within the next 24 hours.
Shmyhal announced this during a telethon.
“Indeed, this is a strategic agreement on the creation of an investment fund, a partnership. This is a truly equal, good, international agreement on joint investments in the development and restoration of Ukraine between the US government and the government of Ukraine. As soon as all the final details are finalized, in the near future, I hope, within the next 24 hours the agreement will be signed and accordingly we will receive the first step,” Shmyhal noted.
According to Shmyhal, after this agreement, two more technical documents will be signed on the direct creation of the investment fund and its financing and replenishment.
The head of government also informed about the details of the agreement. According to him, it provides for the creation of an investment fund in Ukraine with a 50-50 distribution of management shares and shares that will be contributed by the parties. Contributions will be made in cash. At the same time, the American side will be able to count new military aid to Ukraine as a contribution to this fund.
“Ukraine retains control over all resources. That is, subsoil, infrastructure, natural resources are not part or a condition of this fund, this agreement. Ukraine only makes a contribution from new licenses, from new rent on mineral deposits,” he noted.
It is worth noting that the details were also confirmed by People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak – according to his sources, “there is no talk of any active projects” – the agreement does not count existing infrastructure, in particular, ports.
As USM previously wrote, within the framework of the old agreement on mineral deposits, Donald Trump wanted full control over Ukrainian ports.
