Transshipment capacity in Ukraine is now twice as large as grain, — Nibulon

The agricultural company shared the opinion that the logistics market in Ukraine is facing huge problems due to the decrease in grain volumes.

As Elevatorist writes, this was stated by the advisor to the CEO of Nibulon Oleksiy Pavlenko at the AGRO UKRAINE SUMMIT 2025 conference.

“I’m not even talking about Mykolaiv being closed. Mykolaiv will open — the situation will be even worse. Our transshipment tariffs are now lower than they were before the war. We transship at $6 per ton. There were no such figures before the war, because there is simply no grain. That is, there is a general struggle for grain,” Pavlenko emphasized.

Pavlenko added that this also affects other areas, in particular, the elevator business and the freight transportation market — both by road and rail.

Pavlenko also asked Ukrzaliznytsia to introduce tenders for renting wagons not for a month, but at least for a season.

“Three to six months and you will see that interest will be much higher, say, in these tenders and cooperation will be even closer,” Pavlenko said. Earlier, USM said that the Nibulon branch in Izmail handled 4 million tons of cargo.
