Oligarch Abramovich’s superyacht will be repaired in Turkey for $40 million

For the first time in three years, the Eclipse superyacht, owned by sanctioned Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich, has left the port of Marmaris in Turkey.
The vessel has set off for Istanbul for maintenance and repairs, Turkiye Today reports.
Previously, the total cost of the work will exceed $40 million. Painting the hull and superstructures alone will cost tens of millions of dollars.
The vessel is likely to dock at the Tuzla Shipyard. The special inspection procedure is mandatory and is carried out every five years.
It is currently known that during its stay in Marmaris, Abramovich’s yacht burned about a ton of diesel fuel every day – just to ensure the operation of the air conditioner. The owner also paid $209,000 for parking every year.
Recall that sanctioned Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich has a much larger fleet than previously thought – 16 vessels. 10 of them became known recently.
After falling under Western sanctions, Abramovich was able to “save” his yachts. In 2022, two of them — Eclipse and Solaris — were driven to Turkey.
