The USPA held a meeting on the continuation of stable operation of Danube ports in wartime conditions.

The meeting was held with the participation of the leadership of military units, representatives of local authorities, the Shipping Administration and port operators operating in the Danube region, the press service of the State Enterprise “Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority” reported.

The participants discussed the current situation and agreed on joint actions necessary to continue the stable operation of Danube ports in wartime.

The USPA noted that they are systematically working together with the military, local authorities and law enforcement agencies on solutions aimed at strengthening the stability of the industry.

“Danube ports ensure the transshipment of cargo of strategic importance and form a significant part of the country’s export capabilities, which makes the coordinated work of state and local authorities, the military and business critically important,” the message says.

In particular, it was emphasized that a number of measures had been implemented in the Danube direction, including strengthening air defense.

During the meeting, the results of the work of the operational headquarters on the elimination of the consequences of the recent shelling of the port in the city of Izmail were separately heard. The responsible services are carrying out measures to eliminate the damage. The civilian gas tanker that was seized after the attack has already been unmoored from the berth.

Based on the results of the meetings, an action plan was developed, which, together with local authorities, the Defense Forces and business representatives, will be implemented as soon as possible.

As previously reported by USM, the captain of the gas tanker attacked in Izmail ignored the warning about the danger.
