Ukraine follows the EU in tightening sanctions against Russian oil exports

Ukraine will present its own sanctions package against the so-called shadow fleet of the Russian Federation in December.

During a traditional video address, President Volodymyr Zelenskнy announced the strengthening of sanctions pressure on Russian oil logistics from the EU and Ukraine.

“Today, there is an additional sanction step in Europe – there will be more sanctions against Russian tankers, against the entire infrastructure of transporting Russian oil, and this is right. In December, Ukraine will also present its own sanctions package against the tanker fleet, which is working for war, and we will spread this pressure in joint formats with partners,” Zelensky said.

We will remind you that the ambassadors of the EU countries agreed on new sanctions against Russia. They plan to add another 43 vessels of the so-called shadow fleet to the sanctions list. The sanctions are to be formally adopted on Friday, December 12.

As USM wrote, the day before, another tanker transporting Russian oil was attacked in the Black Sea.
