Russia resumes oil loading at Ust-Luga port after shelling

A key Russian Baltic port has resumed oil transshipment after several days of disruptions caused by numerous drone attacks.
According to Bloomberg, the Aframax-class vessel Jewel began loading oil on Saturday, April 4. As of the morning of April 6, the vessel was loaded, but had no clear port of destination.
“Resumption of oil supplies from Ust-Luga could provide some relief to global markets, which are under pressure due to Iran’s blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, the publication notes,” Bloomberg notes.
As a reminder, loading in Ust-Luga, a key oil export point in western Russia, stopped in late March after drone attacks on energy infrastructure along the Baltic coast intensified.
Drones previously attacked one of Russia’s largest oil terminals, Sheskharis.
