Israeli importers offer Ukraine a mechanism for checking grain from the occupied territories

Ukraine and Israel may conclude a memorandum to verify the origin of agricultural products after the scandals with the entry of Russian ships to Haifa with stolen Ukrainian grain.
This is reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a source in diplomatic circles.
It is noted that the idea is to coordinate the arrival of ships with grain to Israel with the Ukrainian side – to verify the origin of the cargo and exclude supplies from the temporarily occupied territories.
The initiative appeared after a series of scandals in the spring of this year. In particular, on April 16, the ABINSK ship with grain, which was exported by Russia from the occupied territories of Ukraine, entered the port of Haifa.
Ukraine warned the Israeli side in advance about the origin of the cargo, but the ship was allowed to unload. 11 days later, another ship with a similar cargo arrived in Haifa. The Ukrainian side also demanded the arrest of the ship and grain, but the Israeli authorities did not take appropriate measures.
USM previously reported that the bulk carrier “Panormitis”, which attempted to transport over 25,000 tons of grain to Haifa, is leaving the country’s shores and heading in an unknown direction.
