The port of Tuapse has not been accepting ships for over a month

The port of Tuapse, which has been subjected to numerous attacks by Ukrainian drones, has probably not been operational for more than a month.

This was noted by the Novaya Gazeta Evropa publication, analyzing data from the VesselFinder service and satellite images.

Thus, since April 23, the port has not received a single oil tanker or other civilian vessel. The nearest vessel with radar turned on is more than 35 km from the coast.

According to the NASA fire map, the last fire in the port was recorded approximately on May 10-11.

The average port reception per day is approximately 8-10 vessels. Considering everything, tankers that were supposed to arrive in Tuapse are now being redirected to other ports – for example, to Novorossiysk.

The publication’s economic columnist Denis Morokhin noted that according to data as of May 28, 11 oil refineries in Russia are still not operational or are operating at less than half capacity. According to him, the damage in Tuapse was “very serious” — both the refinery’s capacity and the oil product storage infrastructure and the terminal were affected.

The situation is aggravated by the fact that the Tuapse refinery is part of Rosneft, and in recent months the company has also suffered other large plants in the European part of Russia, which makes it “not so easy to concentrate resources” on repairs.

A source for the publication in one of the trading companies noted that “everyone is expecting new strikes” from the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the refinery and ports.

Earlier, USM reported that the Defense Forces had struck the Tuapse refinery again.

This is not the first strike on the facility. In April alone, the refinery was attacked three times — on the 16th, 20th, and 28th, as well as on May 1st. After the strike on April 20, the plant stopped its only primary oil processing unit.
