Russian strikes on Chornomorsk halved capacity of two terminals

Part of the cargo flow has been temporarily reoriented to the terminals of the Pivdennyi port – the resumption of work of TBT and RISOIL is expected approximately by June 13.

Two terminals in the port of Chornomorsk – TBT and RISOIL – are currently operating at approximately 50% of capacity due to the consequences of Russian strikes. This was announced by Valery Tkachev, Deputy Director of the Department of Transportation Technology and Commercial Work of Ukrzaliznytsia on June 11, Elevatorist writes.

“Unfortunately, we have a problem with unloading. Chornomorsk-Port, two terminals – TBT and RISOIL – are currently operating at approximately 50% of their capacity due to the strike. They will be repaired in the near future, and we will resume grain acceptance at these terminals,” he noted.

Due to the restrictions on the operation of the terminals, the queue of wagons in the direction of sea ports has increased. As of June 11, there are 8,438 wagons with grain on the network — 1,574 more than a week earlier. The average daily unloading of grain in the ports of Greater Odessa is 1,161 wagons — 23 less than the previous week. At the same time, the average daily load increased to 1,255 wagons per day, which is 186 more than a week ago.

Part of the cargo flow was temporarily reoriented to the terminals of the port of Pivdennyi.

According to UZ, in the first 9 days of June, 687.5 thousand tons of grain were transported by rail to seaports — 89% of the total export flow. Through western land crossings — 83.1 thousand tons, or 11%.

Let us remind you that the terminals of Chornomorsk have been subjected to systematic attacks since April. On April 26, drones destroyed oil tanks at RISOIL, on June 5, the infrastructure for storing and transshipment of grain at the Kernel terminal was damaged, and on June 6 and 7, a direct hit caused a fire in a vegetable meal warehouse.
