France Detains Russian “Shadow Fleet” Tanker Deliver (Video)

The French navy has intercepted the Deliver, a “shadow fleet” tanker transiting off the coast of Sicily.

The vessel was said to have violated maritime law, French President Emmanuel Macron said on his social media account X.

“This latest action against the shadow fleet, carried out just days after a similar operation by the UK, illustrates the determination of Europeans. We will not allow the shadow fleet to evade sanctions and finance Russia’s war effort,” he wrote.

Macron added that Europe is “determined” and will make all necessary efforts “to increase the cost of war for Russia and ensure the establishment of a strong and lasting peace in Ukraine.”

Earlier, USM reported that Ukraine is developing naval drones to intercept Russian “shadow fleet” vessels.
