The progress of port infrastructure repairs was checked in the port of Chornomorsk

The Chornomorsk Sea Port inspected the progress of the major repairs of berth No. 9 and the reconstruction of road infrastructure near checkpoints-2 and 3.

This was reported by the press service of the Chornomorsk Sea Port Authority.

In particular, the specialists inspected the work on berth No. 9, which was put into operation back in 1961. According to the administration, since then, no major reconstruction works have been carried out at the facility.

As part of the project, the contractor is restoring the load-bearing capacity of the hydraulic structure, in particular reinforced concrete piles, grillage and rear beam. The replacement of crane and railway tracks and the arrangement of the concrete coating of the berth are also underway.

The administration notes that the work will allow restoring the technical parameters of the berth to the passport ones and extending its service life.

The port also inspected the reconstruction of the motor transport infrastructure in the area of checkpoints-2 and 3. The road infrastructure in these areas was also built in the 1960s and needed major repairs.

The total area of the road surface being reconstructed exceeds 25 thousand sq. m. At the time of the inspection, the contractor had completed more than 60% of the total volume of work.

In the near future, the port plans to open a new section of the road for freight and civilian transport. After that, the contractor will proceed to the reconstruction of the second carriageway.

These infrastructure projects are planned to be completed by the end of the year. After that, the port is to begin new projects for major repairs of the road infrastructure.

Earlier, USM reported that four applicants were admitted to the competition for the concession of the terminals of the port of Chornomorsk.
