Soybean shortage in Ukraine keeps export prices from falling

Prices for agricultural products are kept at $425–430 per ton CPT-port and up to $445 at the western border.

The Ukrainian soybean export market remains quite active. High demand and low availability of the crop in the current season are still neutralizing the downward pressure on the world market.
Last week, demand prices did not significantly adjust and amounted to $425–430 per ton at CPT-port and $430–445 at DAP-western border.
Soybeans stand out noticeably against the background of other crops. For comparison, corn in the ports of Odessa fell to $128–135 per ton over the same period, and wheat fell by 11.5% to $165. Soybeans maintain levels close to October levels: at the end of September they cost $410–425 CPT-port, and in mid-October they rose to $430–440.
The stability of the soybean trend was also explained at the Fat & Oil Industry conference. According to Barva Invest, the risks for soybeans and rapeseed are lower than for sunflowers, due to smaller harvest volumes and the proximity of a large sales market – the European Union.
Recall that due to the shutdown of the ports of Great Odesa, 5 million tons of sunflower may not be processed.
