The engine of a russian rocket washed up on the coast of Romania
Parts of the projectiles may still contain ammunition, which poses a danger to all countries of the Black Sea basin.
A part of the russian-made Pantsir S-1 missile was thrown onto the coast near Constanta (Romania). On Monday, January 16, soldiers of the Naval Forces of Romania caught ammunition. It is currently kept at the headquarters for research, reports the General Staff of the Romanian Navy.
The military clarified that part of the rocket does not contain pyrotechnic materials. The detected element is the tube of the launcher of a surface-to-air anti-aircraft missile launched by the Panther S-1 anti-aircraft missile system.
Most likely, part of the missile fell into the sea during the recent shelling of Ukrainian infrastructure. The Romanian Navy emphasized that such “gifts of the sea” will increasingly be brought to the coast of the Black Sea countries.
