A ship carrying goods to Iran ran aground in Russia


The dry cargo “Volgo-Balt 232” ran aground in the Volga-Caspian Sea Channel.

The accident happened on October 15. The vessel was en route from Astrakhan, Russia to the port of Caspian, Iran.

There were 3,000 tons of corn on board the ship. As of October 15, there were no reports of a leak, the ship was waiting for tugs.

As of October 16, the ship remains out of touch in the Volga-Caspian Sea Channel. RosZMI reports that the ship has already been removed from the ground.
