An official of the Izmail port is suspected of treason
The SBU exposed a russian agent who turned out to be an official of one of the enterprises of the Izmail river port.
“The accomplice of the aggressor turned out to be an official of one of the enterprises of the Izmail River Port, who was recruited by a representative of the Russian special services after the start of the full-scale invasion,” the SBU reports.
He was preparing a missile attack on energy facilities and the port of Izmail, as well as collecting information on the location of units of the Defense Forces, the location of electrical substations and other urban energy facilities.
The Prosecutor General’s Office said that he was monitoring the dynamics of the ships’ calls to the local port and the types of cargo being transported by them. He passed on information about the defense and specifics of the activities of the local police station to the enemy.
The intelligence information was needed by the russian military to prepare a series of targeted missile strikes on Ukrainian targets.
On the basis of the collected evidence, he was informed of the suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (treason committed under martial law). The court chose him as a preventive measure in the form of detention.
